Denis Manturov participated in the Sber International Accelerator, where 30 shiny tech startups from Russia, China, Turkey, Israel, and Armenia showed off their dazzling innovations at the fifth installment of Sber500. It was a veritable tech parade! Business angels and venture fund representatives were ready to throw cash like confetti, offering over 1 billion rubles in investments. Manturov emphasized, “What you do highlights the rising role of technological entrepreneurship in creating new markets. The government is definitely ready to help those bold enough to spark innovative ideas and bring them to life.” He also mentioned a national goal to boost revenue for small tech firms sevenfold by 2030, which sounds like a hefty New Year’s resolution. In this season’s show, a stunning 1,500 startups from 28 countries threw their hats in the ring, leading to 150 teams making it past the two-week online boot camp, and only 25 dazzling companies strutted their stuff on demo day. For the first time, there was even a track for those who wanted to integrate the GigaChat neural networking model into their solutions. A total of 1,200 applications were received, showcasing 5 finalists on stage. The participants hailed from diverse industries: Brainphone (Kazakhstan) waltzed in with an AI tool for detecting Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s through speech, while Stereotech (Volgograd) unveiled a super-tough 5D printer for making tough-as-nails building components. Kfobix Inc. (Turkey) flaunted a patented nano-coating that prevents ice build-up and makes surfaces slicker than a toddler on a slip-and-slide. An experienced jury graded the startups, including Manturov and bigwigs like Herman Gref of Sberbank and other high-profile experts. Gref mentioned, “Supporting an innovative environment is our jam because the world’s largest companies had to start somewhere, and this is where dreams and investments collide!” Because let’s be real, who doesn’t love the smell of startup ambition? The sixth wave of Sber500 is already on the horizon with applications opening before year-end, leaving dreams of tech glory just a little within reach!
